intermittent blogging
Well, I went back to Oklahoma for Christmas and it was quite possibly the best Christmas I've ever had in my entire life!
I had a great time seeing my friends and being back in a place that has come to be my home.
But, while there I gave my computer away to my adopted little sister as she is a freshman at OU and doesn't own a computer and is a commuter. I managed to make it through OU without owning a computer, but I lived in Norman and had ready access to the labs. I can't imagine trying to make it through college without a computer or ready access to the labs. So, I gave her mine.
So, for the time being, the only computer access I have is at my work and I can't really justify using work time or work computers to update my blog.
I will try and update occassionally though.

I will miss hearing about your life. I'm sorry I missed you while you were in OK, but I wasn't sure you would be interested in meeting me and I was in Arizona most of the time. I'll keep you on Bloglines, just in case.

Keep an open eye on Office Depot or Best Buy for in store deals. About 4 months ago I got a 13" Toshiba laptop that I love.
Just prior to Christmas Office Depot had an EMachine with out a monitor for next to nothing after rebates ($282.00).
Believe me, the Lord will bless you for meeting the needs of others.

I'm leaving this comment in the hopes that you see it since I can't seem to find your email.
One of the biggest parts of our Land Run is a thirty minute presentation given by a Native American speaker to explain their perspective about the Oklahoma Land Run. This year it is being given by our site manager's wife who is Kiowa. (I am 1/16 Cherokee myself-don't let the blonde hair fool you.) She starts out by having several adult and volunteer children be a "family." She gives them a tipi and tells them to spread out across a wide space. Then, she had them pick up the tipi and some other supplies and move it to a slightly smaller part. She repeats this a couple more times until they are in a tiny, roped-off spot (doing a wicked, smart-aleck imitation of Pres. Jackson while she's at it) and then tells the kids that the same thing happened to the Native Americans. It's quite powerful and she feels it brings balance to our Land Run. She has volunteered in many capacities for our re-enactment over the years and, as she is an attorney for a Native American non-profit agency (don't have her permission to say which one), I imagine she wouldn't be involved if she disapproved.
I do understand your viewpoint and, believe me, I respect it; but I just wanted you to know that we do try and present both sides when we do this. My email is greggdigressions@gmail.com if you have any further thoughts and you are also free to use my blog comment section.
FYI-this is NOT intermittent blogging. This is NO blogging. Come back Sooner Scotty. I miss you.
